Taiwan-based second-tier notebook maker CLEVO expects its shipments of notebooks to grow at least 40% on year to top 800,000 units in 2007, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report, citing CLEVO vice president Stephen Jian. CLEVO shipped about 90,000 notebooks in May and is expected to ship 100,000 units in June, with notebook shipments for the second quarter of the year to total 260,000 units, the paper quoted Jian as saying. Jian also said that the company has been receiving orders for 150,000 notebooks a month for over the past few months, according to EDN.
